“Want” and “Need” Relationships

Changing “I can’t” to “I won’t” and “I might” to “I will” involves the greatest gift that God created us with and presented to us through Jesus Christ…CHOICE! We have the choice to choose Jesus everyday because He first chose us!

I am so thankful that God gave us a choice. Jesus does not want a relationship with us that is forced. He desires a relationship with us out of want, not need. Do we need Him? Yes! He prefers, however, a relationship where we want to be in a relationship with Him because we love Him.

The healthiest relationships on earth are based on want, not need also. The healthiest marriage relationships are those that are based on want, not need. If a relationship is based solely on need; once the need is fulfilled or received, then the relationship will ultimately end unless replaced with a want relationship. As a man or woman in a relationship with someone, believe me, you want to be wanted, not needed. Neediness becomes exhausting. Being wanted becomes exhilarating!

The amazing truth about God is that He wants a relationship with us! That is why Jesus chose to give His life for us on a cross.
