Procrastination is like a credit card: it’s a lot of fun until you get the bill. -Christopher Parker
Someday every person will stand before God and give an account of his or her life. Many today want to put off the decision to follow Jesus because they view Jesus as a type of credit card to get into heaven. These persons want to have all the fun they can and do whatever they want to do until they have to pay the bill of judgment. They figure they can pay the price, someday, somewhere, sometime before the bill is due.
The problem is that there is only one person who can pay the price, and He already did it! Jesus sends out the twelve (Luke 9:3) and the 70 disciples (Luke 10:4) with specific instructions that illustrate the urgency that all persons have a chance to know Him as Savior. Jesus tells His disciples to take nothing for their journey, no staff, nor bag, nor bread, nor money (purse), no sandals; and salute (greet) no one on the road. In other words, Jesus says don’t procrastinate sharing the Gospel so others may know me. He recognizes that judgment will come very soon and Jesus wants as many people to accept Him as Savior as possible. God knows that sin will require a payment to be made that only one person can pay–that person is Jesus.
Don’t procrastinate—ask Jesus into your life and heart today! If you are already a Christian, don’t procrastinate—share Jesus with someone today!
